Sharing History through Active Reminiscence and Photo-imagery (SHARP) is a research project which engages African Americans aged 55 and older in community memory building by walking through historically black neighborhoods in North and Northeast Portland. Spearheaded by Portland native, Dr. Raina Croff PhD, her research seeks to improve the cognitive health of older African Americans' through increasing physical activity and social engagement in ways that celebrate culture, history, and community memory.
